As well as selling printer cartridges manufactured by the companies that make the printers here at The Cartridge Wizard we also offer very competitively priced "remanufactured" and "compatible" cartridges.
Remanufactured Inkjet Cartridges
When an original cartridge (one made by the printer manufacturer) runs out it can be professionally refurbished, refilled and repackaged. This process is known as remanufacturing and has two huge advantages over purchasing another original cartridge.
Firstly, prices for remanufactured cartridges are much lower than those of originals. The printer companies seek to make very high margins on the consumables they sell but by buying a remanufactured cartridge you will almost always pay less and receive more ink. Secondly, a remanufactured cartridge is one that has been recycled and therefore saved from being one of the 30 million empty cartridges discarded in landfill sites annually in the UK alone. As it takes on average 2.8 litres of oil to make one cartridge and over 1000 years for that cartridge to biodegrade it makes sense from an environmental point of view to recycle whenever possible.

Compatible Inkjet Cartridges
Many cartridges are simply ink tanks that operate through the print head that is within the printer. Some of these come with a chip that enables them to communicate with the printer. Compatibles can also be produced at a much lower price by manufacturers other than the companies that make the printers and original cartridges, giving far greater value for money.

Remanufactured Laser Toner Cartridges
Like inkjet cartridges many laser toner cartridges can be remanufactured. Again, the cartridge is professionally cleaned and any worn parts, including the drum if necessary, are replaced. The cartridge is then fully filled with matching top quality toner, tested and repackaged.
Like the inkjets, remanufactured toner cartridges are generally much better value for money and the empty cartridge has avoided the landfill.
